Acoustic, electronic, and immersive audiovisual work for stage, screen, and space.
Biography
Daniel Kalantari is a Germany-based multimedia composer, sound designer, visual artist, and educator. His work brings together contemporary composition, electroacoustic music, AI and machine learning, digital notation, interactive light, and immersive audiovisual environments.
Working across acoustic instruments, live electronics, sensors, code, and generative visual systems, he creates performances and installations in which sound, image, space, and technology actively influence one another. His practice includes electroacoustic works, real-time and digital scores, audio-reactive visuals, interactive light installations, and immersive 3D environments developed with tools such as Max/MSP/Jitter, Python, and Unreal Engine.
Kalantari’s works have been performed in Germany, Sweden, and Iran by musicians and ensembles including Ensemble APPARAT, the Göttingen Baroque Orchestra, and tuba player Jack Adler-McKean. His work is published by Edition Gravis.
He is currently completing an M.A. in Music Composition at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and works at the ZeMFI Center, where he develops projects at the intersection of music, technology, and performance. He also previously studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main (HfMDK Frankfurt).
